Sonoma County, CA (September 30, 2016)—Every season has a great beer, this season it’s Racer X. Racing back to shelves, this highly anticipated and elusive Double IPA is one of the most desired beers around.

Racer X will make its return in 22oz. bottles and will be on draft at select retailers, bars, and restaurants where Bear Republic beer is sold, beginning in October. It will be available, locally, at the Healdsburg brewpub on Saturday, October 1.

“Racer X is bold with a California-spin,” said Bear Republic Brewmaster/COO, Richard “Ricardo” Norgrove.

With kettle and dry hops of Cascade, Columbus, and Centennial, this full bodied beer will satisfy your need for hops without leaving you hungry for more malty substance.

Norgrove continued, “It really embodies the role of big brother to Racer 5 with flavorful hops and a sleek, strong malt base.”

Along with exceptional praise and admiration from fans over the years, Racer X has earned a rating of 95 from
Beer Advocate and a 100 from Ratebeer. Since it was originally created by the Brewmaster over thirteen years ago, it has been released annually since, with limited availability nationwide.

About the Beer:
Notable Awards: Racer X is a four-time winner at the California State Fair, with three silver medals and one bronze.

Beer Description: Racer X is an uncommon Double India Pale Ale which puts a California twist on English brewing traditions by adding an assertive hop aroma and bitterness that compliments the firm malt backbone. Like its little brother Racer 5, Racer X is balance in a bottle.

Availability: Limited 22oz. bottles and draft
Hops: Cascade, Columbus, Centennial
ABV: 8.3% –  IBUs: 100+ –  Color: Copper  –  Double
IPA

Tasting Notes:
Pairing Suggestions: Barbecue, Beef, Poultry, Pork Dishes, Bold Cheeses, Aged Cheddar and Hard Cheeses
Overall: Racer X is a very hoppy Double IPA that pairs well with hot, spicy foods and strong flavors.
